Project Overview

What is a Regional Safety Action Plan?

Lewis-Clark Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (LCVMPO) is preparing a Regional Safety Action Plan (RSAP). The RSAP will present a holistic, well-defined strategy to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries in the region.

The RSAP will analyze safety needs, identify high-risk locations and
factors contributing to crashes, and prioritize strategies to address
them.

The RSAP will meet eligibility requirements that allow local
jurisdictions to apply
for Implementation Grants from the United States
Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All
(SS4A) program (https://www.transportation.gov/grants/SS4A).

Purpose:

Develop a holistic strategy to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries in communities within the LCVMPO area.

RSAP will:

  • Analyze safety needs

  • Identify high-risk locations and factors contributing to crashes

  • Prioritize strategies to address them

Study Area

The RSAP is inclusive of the LCVMPO area, which includes Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Clarkston, Asotin, and Asotin County.
